My grandma was a very bold lady. When my parents used to go to work, it was my grandma who took care of us. She was the one who helped me in my studies during my school days. She passed away a few years back. In her last ages, she was suffering from dementia.

I would like to know whether dementia is a hereditary disease or not. Now I feel that my mother also started showing signs of dementia. At times she behaves in an unnatural way. Are there any treatments for dementia? For about a month, I will not be here as I have to go for a business trip to USA. I don't want my mother to be alone at home during that time. I'm planning on adopting home care services. But, my concern is whether they are reliable or not. Has anyone availed such a service before? I would like to know whether I should send my mom to their home care or will they provide a nurse or a caregiver for looking after my mother at home? Please do chime in your suggestions. Thanks in advance.
