CO is a very poisonous toxic gas. Being a colorless, odorless and a tasteless gas, its presence cannot be detected immediately. When inhaled, it gets combined with the hemoglobin of our blood and forms carboxyhemoglobin, which is very dangerous. Carbon monoxide poisoning is the most common type of fatal poisoning in many countries.

One way to prevent the exposure to CO is to install carbon monoxide detector. Use of such safety alarm app is standardized in many areas. One of my major concern is AC-powered detectors and about their battery backup. What are the guidelines to be followed other than those published by the National Fire Protection Association? Please share your thoughts.
